The Standing Chapter 13 Trustee administers Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases in the Trenton Vicinage of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. We provide a casual, team-oriented environment, and require team players with a strong work ethic.

To provide legal support and assist Staff Attorneys and Trustee by preparing cases for 341(a) and confirmation hearings, and monitoring them throughout the process. Perform assorted case management functions for the Trusteeship. The nature of this position requires keen analytical skills, critical thinking, and discretion; as well as inside contact with all levels of Trusteeship staff, and outside contact with debtors, debtors attorneys, creditors, and other parties-in-interest.


Reviews petitions, plans, schedules, and related materials in preparation for hearings, and consults with Staff Attorney regarding questions and proposes solutions. Updates automated accounting system fields and worksheets accordingly.

Drafts pleadings, motions, and standard correspondence to debtors attorneys regarding plan feasibility, obstacles to confirmation, dismissal, conversion, and other related matters.

Attends court hearings as required, providing on-site legal support and assistance, and maintaining notes regarding case or hearing status.

Maintains accurate records of court proceedings and furnishes results to claims department and other necessary parties. Maintains court confirmations and motions adjournment calendar.

Acts as liaison with debtors attorneys and their paralegal staff.

Assists in the performance of special projects or modified assignments at the request of management.
